Cognitive Tests

Cognitive tests are conducted to assess the cognitive abilities of humans and other animals. Intelligence tests are among the most popular and commonly-used types of cognitive tests. In addition to traditional descriptive approaches to the diagnosis and evaluation of treatment response in psychological and psychiatric diseases, cognitive assessments serve as emerging criteria in clinical and research settings.

The Cambridge Neuropsychological Test Automated Battery (CANTAB) is conducted to evaluate disorders related to neurological diseases and neurodevelopmental syndromes. This set of tests measures cognitive abilities such as working memory, learning and executive performance, visual, verbal and event memory, attention, information processing and reaction time, emotional and social recognition, decision-making, and response control.

Atieh  Laboratory employs CANTAB, as a common tool worldwide, in order to enable researchers and practitioners to design and conduct innovative studies in the field of neuroscience.
